Had high hopes for this series but this is just book 2 and I'm doubting I'll get through the rest of them--why?
1. Kate is a whiner about everything
2. tired of hearing about her retirement
3. tired of hearing about her almost re-instatement for cold cases
4. tired of hearing about her being a Grandmother for the first time and her daughter's issues
5. tired of hearing about her boyfriend Allen (unless later in the series he is a killer or something)
6. tired of her and her partner thinking they have 'the killer' in just very little investigating and wham he just pops up?
7. also very tired of hearing about her age, she is 55 and oh right she's almost 56 and a Grandmother for the first time
All of the above is repeated over and over throughout the short books so you can imagine that there isn't much story to these
