I got an orange envelope today with an envelope inside of it where the books were either taken out or fell out (I hardly think so since the tape is still on and there is a cut in one side) Anyway, I got a "Parcel Search Request" form to mail in so they can look for the items. "Sorry for any inconvience" whatever. Has anybody ever had a positive response from one of these? I had paid postage and DC that they didn't bother to scan either! |

I think the sooner you get the info to them about what was in the package, the better. I've only ever had one package go missing and it never did turn up. I have heard of success stories too though! |

The DC isn't scanned, because it wasn't delivered, it's been returned to you, so the DC can't be scanned for delivery. As for the cut in the side, machinery is rough on pkgs, and it does happen. There have been many others that have reported having this happen. It's not a common thing, but it unfortunately does happen. Atleast you know basically what happened to your "lost" books. Many never have the envelope survive to be returned. I think I did hear of one person post that her books were found. Most of the rest of us are just out of luck. I'd still try tho, no matter how futile, it's always worth a shot! |

Maybe it was cut open for inspection? I got one like that only the book was still inside. I guess I was lucky since the PO did not reseal it. |

Books opened for inspection will be so marked on the outside and should have a form letter on the inside. As Sherry said, it's probably from handeling by machines, rubbing or tearing against a container, or even another parcel. Go ahead and send in the form, you never know. Sometimes they have the articles and sometimes they don't. Sorry for the problem. |
