I always enjoy Ms. Miller's books (and have read most of them), but was stunned to discover on page 48 that the "daughter of a town marshal" refers to the mule Seesaw as being the offspring of a previous family mule. Mules are sterile hybrids, a cross between a horse dam and a donkey sire, and cannot reproduce. Surely I'm not the only country gal to have caught this gaffe.

I have read the McKettrick series and have enjoyed it very much. "Sierra's Homecoming" did not measure up to to the books previously read.
