Hey all! I've been running my blender ragged lately, whipping up lots of fruit smoothies. Mainly because DD doesn't like veggies, so at least she is getting some Vit. C and other good things with these. Plus, I make frozen pops and they really cut my sugar cravings. But, fall is coming, and I'd love to make some other types of smoothies. Does anyone have any pumpkin smoothie recipes that are tried and true? DD has drunk one that I made and liked it. So I'm hoping to try a few more. Maybe even mocha? She's liked the ones I've made so far. I've even added baby food to hers! Sweet potatoes, and apple mango, things like that. Anything to get some veggies into her. So, please share any smoothie recipes you have! Summery, wintery, whatever! THey don't all have to be figure friendly. I add lowfat yogurt to mine, but a few with ice cream or some desserty types are fine for me too! |

Frozen banana lattes: (DH and I looooove these) measurements are approximate, since I don't have the recipe in front of me: 2 ripe bananas, frozen 1-2 Tbs instant coffee granules 2-3 scoops of frozen vanilla yogurt (we use sugar-free ice cream) ~1/3 cup of SILKEN tofu ~1 c. vanilla soy milk (or cow milk) Blend up and enjoy! (I might be off on the amount of milk-- basically, add enough to blend and get the desired consistency...) |

Pumpking Smoothie 15oz can pumpkin 1 can evorapted milk 8 oz vanilla yogurt 1/4 cup sugar 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice (cinnamon/nutmeg/ginger)
Also my son's favorite is Chocolate peanut butter banana smooth (I don't measure...just throw in) yogurt milk frozen bananas (or not) about 1 large spoon full of smoot peanut butter chocolate syrup

Here's my favorite breakfast smoothie. Sorry the amounts aren't very accurate. I just throw things into the blender. A lot of it depends on if I'm sharing it or not. :) That pumpkin smoothie sounds GOOD! I'll have to try that soon. orange juice 1 banana a few frozen strawberries (not too many - five tops) milk powder plain yogurt 1 or 2 scoops protein powder |

My blender broke!!! :( How can this be? I got one more smoothie out of it this weekend! Banana peach smoothie pops for DD. But then it died, and there's a big crack in the bottom! Guess I'll be asking Santa for a new blender for Christmas! But keep sending those smoothie recipes!!! |

Here are some recipes that we have been using every morning around here. Apricot Pineapple Smoothie Recipe 1/4 cup crushed pineapple 1 fresh apricot, diced 6 strawberries 1/2 banana 1 1/2 cup water 1 tbsp. skim milk powder 1 heaping tbsp. high- quality protein powder (optional) 1 tsp. flax seed oil (optional) ------------------------- In a blender, process fruit with the rest of the ingredients. Blend until thoroughly mixed and serve.
Banana-Strawberry Fruit Smoothie Recipe 1 banana, frozen 6 strawberries, frozen 1 1/4 cup water 1 tbsp. skim milk powder 1 heaping tbsp. high- quality protein powder (optional) 1 tsp. flax oil (optional) -------------------------------- In a blender, process all the ingredients until thoroughly mixed and serve.
Tropical Fruit Shake 1/2 mango 2 tbsp. frozen pina coloda mix (or 1/8 tsp. natural coconut extract) 1/2 banana, frozen 4 strawberries, frozen 6 ice cubes 1 1/4 cup water 1 heaping tbsp. high- quality protein powder (optional) 1 tsp. flax oil (optional) -------------------------------- In a blender, process all the ingredients until thoroughly mixed and serve.
Banana-Berry Fruit Smoothie 1/2 pear, cored 1/4 cup frozen blueberries or frozen mixed berries 1/2 banana, frozen 1 1/4 cup water 1/8 tsp. cinnamon 1 tbsp. skim milk powder 1 heaping tbsp. high-quality protein powder (optional) 1 tsp. flax oil (optional) -------------------------------- In a blender, process all the ingredients until thoroughly mixed and serve.
Banana-Orange-Strawberry Fruit Shake 1/2 cup orange juice 1/2 banana, frozen 6 strawberries, frozen 1/2 cup water 1 tbsp. skim milk powder 1 heaping tbsp. high- quality protein powder (optional) 1 tsp. flax oil (optional) -------------------------------- In a blender, process all the ingredients until thoroughly mixed and serve.
Mixed Fruit Smoothie - 2 bananas, chilled - 2/3 cup fresh strawberries or mangoes, sliced - 12 oz juice (grape, mango, strawberry, or apricot - chilled) - 8 ounces fat-free yogurt (vanilla or plain) - 1 tablespoon honey - 2 tablespoons pistachio nuts, ground In the smoothie maker, combine the bananas, strawberries or mango slices, fruit juice, yogurt, and honey. Cover and blend until creamy and smooth. Pour into six chilled glasses and sprinkle with crushed pistachio nuts. Calories - 152 Carbohydrates 47 grams Total Fat - 2 grams |

Yummy, Pumpkin! And pumpkin is a great way to get fiber. I made smoothies all summer from someone talking about them on one of the other forums. I freeze the fruit to not use any ice. If you don't want to use sugar or nasty, bad for you artificial sweeteners use some Stevia to sweeten your smoothie if it's not sweet enough for you. Or even some Agave. I'm diabetic so I use no sugar or artificial sweeteners. Anyone know where I can get the popsicle holders shaped oval or round? I bought some at bed bath and beyond and they're star shaped, our mouths are not star shaped and it's awkward to use them, |
