A young cat helps her mother run an inn. Emma is waiting for her friend to show up, but it has started to snow. The inn fills up quickly and soon Emma's mother's room is gone. A mother fox and her daughter come and Emma gives up her room as well. Emma is very worried about her friend, but she finally arrives. Emma, her friend, and the small fox have a sleepover downstairs by the fire.

Why I recommend it: I like the illustrations. The animals are finely drawn. It's also a story about learning to wait.
