This book was pretty good, the first I have read by this author. It is the story of twins, separated by birth by a Nanny who will do anything to please the couple she works for. The twins go on to lead very parallel lives, a bit unbelieveable at times how alike they are.

No more, no less contrived than any Archer - but he is a master storyteller -- worth reading if you like page-turners.

Archer provides a fine read with a keen sense of the goog and bad in people and the importance of kinship...[He]masterfully creates a great villain in Elliot, who jumps off the pages in all of his vengeful and shady glamour."

This author is a master storyteller, weaving decades of the characters' lives and paying very careful attention to detail. This is a story about twins separated at birth, and their lives and loves. Their lives are very similar and parallel, and there is a real build up to the time when they eventually learn the truth. But I have to say, I was disappointed in how rushed the ending felt. Given the length of the book, the resolution was as un-detailed as he could have possibly made it. Perhaps of the last chapter had less detail about politics and more detail about personal life, it would have been better.

Jeffrey Archer is quickly becoming my new favorite author. I loved this book, I hated to see it end, I had made friends throughout those 500+ pages. A masterful storyteller who can make the most mundane suspenseful.

Heck of a fun listen. Kept the car running a couple of times just to listen to a little more (with gasoline at $4.19).
