A psychological thriller. Two Manhattan prep school students make a pact to lose their virginity before graduation. But on one bitterly cold holiday weekend in an isolated cabin in Vermont, a horrifying twist develops in the plan. This novel travels through decades from New York to Vermont to California, showing the friendship between 2 very different women, the burden of carrying a secret, and the lies told to others & ourselves when the truth is too painful to accept.

Wow! I couldn't put this book down.

A psychological thriller full of secrets, lies and a manipulative villain. A quick read that kept me anxious for Carole's fate from beginning to end.

I guess I'm just too used to reading True Crime and not fiction like this ..... so many coincidences just do not happen in one's life.

From the very beginning of this book, I could relate to the narator, Carol. One mistake on top of another, on top of another. Pretty soon, the pile of mistakes is so big, it seems you can never see the light again. The book was slow at times in the middle but by the end I couldn't read fast enough to see how it ended.

This was a fast paced thriller spanning ten years. It was well written and interesting, finished it in 2 days. Not a lot of twists and turns but a good overall story.
