Story (D+) Just enough to keep you interested, but extremely weak. The author really had to stretch to pull the scenes together. And it was clear that although he's writing about racing, he just doesn't understand.

Characters (D-) Pathetic, weak, and generally forgettable, I had to keep flipping back to remind myself of who was who. The most sympathetic character in the book is the SHARK!

Setting (A+++) Daytona. Daytona in February. Jet-Ski races. Speed Boat races. NASCAR races.

OVERALL (C-) This book is only worth reading to get the racing fix...and even then, you can't smell the smells or hear the roar, unless you have a tremendous imgination! Root for the shark.
