Savannah Levine is a witch. She is the daughter of powerful parents who are deceased but still manage to communicate with her through unusual ways. Shes young, has been through and seen quite a bit through the years, but has shaken her quite as much as the sudden loss of all her magical powers. The magic she has relied on so heavily is gone; and she doesnt know what to do with herself without it.

But in the Otherworld a group of supernaturals are creating what looks to be the start of something dangerous; pitting supernatural vs. supernatural in a sort of paranormal civil war. This threatens the world as Savannah knows it, and she and her closest pals are working to find out all the whos and whys.

Characters from the past 11 books grace the pages, but Savannah takes the lead along with her best friend and secret crush, Adam. The friendship warms the pages and teases the reader with enough promise of heat should these two ever romantically collide.

Savannah is a stubborn and at times frustrating heroine and I found myself equally admiring and cursing her grit. She can be abrasive, but when she exposes her softer side you cant help but love her. Savannah is the kind of witch you want on your side, always.

I have had this series on my To Be Read bookshelf for far too long. Jumping into this series at book number 12 has left me hungry for more and angry with myself for having not read these books sooner. Kelley Armstrong has proven herself to me to be a master at her craft. She held me as a willing captive in her world from page one and at the end of this story she has me impatiently awaiting book 13. I already have book 1, Bitten, in my possession and plan on spending a lot of time my near future in the Otherworld. If the quality of this work is an indication of the quality of the previous books, I am in for some fabulous reading.

Spell Bound is book two in the final trilogy of the Women of the Underworld series. It is a continuation of Savannahs story with a sprinkling of other beloved characters throughout the book. There is something big on the horizon, will they be prepared?

Savannah doesnt want to tell Paige and Lucas that she has lost her powers so she does everything she can to miss her plane to Miami. In the process, she is kidnapped by a fanatical group that believes supernaturals are going to come out and take over the world. They believe that certain events that have occurred in the supernatural world are signs, such as Savannah herself, the birth of Clay and Elenas twins, and several other events.

Adam and Savannah have been investigating this cult while trying to figure out who took her powers. Adam is determined that he will help her get them back, no matter the cost to him. He is concerned for her safety and just wants to get her to Miami and the protection of the Cabal. Not only is he beside himself with worry when she gets kidnapped, he is pissed because it couldve been prevented.

Everyone is in Miami working on the issue of the cult and the signs the leader mentioned. When one of the signs goes missing, it sets up a whole chain of events that could turn out very badly for Savannah and her friends.

Savannah has lost her powers and feels helpless in this fight. As the book progresses she starts to realize that she has plenty to offer the others, even without her magic. You really see her start to grow up and realize that she has taken so much for granted in her life, not just her powers. She starts to accept responsibility for her actions and learns to let others help her when their skill set is better than hers. It takes her losing her powers to realize that if she doesnt change; she is going to lose Adam, even as a friend.

Adam is one of my favorite characters and I think he makes a good match for Savannah. Its obvious he cares deeply for her (the end of the book about killed me) but he has trouble getting past the age difference and seeing her as a grownup. He has indulged her from the beginning but he wont back down when it comes to her safety. He is willing to do whatever it takes to get her powers back because thats what makes Savannah happy.

I love Adam and Savannah together and just want to nudge them along a little faster. They are good together and their bond is strengthened by their friendship. When Adam finally does give in, it will be magical just like that kiss. I loved seeing my old friends, the wolves along with Paige and Lucas, Hope, Jamie, and everyone else.

I have high hopes for the last book; it has the possibility of being epic, since it will be the culmination of everything that has happened throughout the Otherworld series. Its with bitter sweetness that I await the final book in this series. I cant wait to see how it ends but after that, there will be no more adventures with some of my favorite characters.

Overall I give Spell Bound 4½ Flaming Hearts.

This was one awesome story, (without an ending) from Kelley Armstrong. I regret that I'm on pins and needles wondering what will happen next, and having to wait FOREVER for the next installment. After gagging through Armstrong's Men of the Otherworld, I was reluctant to buy this hard cover book, but the Otherworld series has been entertaining, and this was delicious. Great storytelling, but if you haven't read the 11 books before this, you should.

This book was great, wish the next one was done already! i have to say i read a lot of series and by book 10 it gets boring. this is not one of those series. i only felt that one of the books (#11 counterfeit magic) was weak and it was a novella so at least it was short.

The number 12 book in the series is much better than the last few. Ms. Armstrong is try to set up for the next portion of the series. All the main characters were involved but it focuses on Savannah the you witch. This book is more of set up book getting you ready for future additions to the series, which should be quite good. Savannah has never been one of my favorites but supporting cast is good. Feels like she will tie this series into her YA series somehow.

Miss Savannah in the lead. Everyone is in this book! How do we figure out what this crazy young group wants with sups overtaking the world. Anytime anyone starts spouting drivel about being a ruling class one has to wonder about their sanity and if they have ever read a history book, any history book in their short miserable lives, although its seems the motivation behind this Liberation Front is Immortality! Crazy page turner! So the war cometh!
