Another good Reginald Hill book, though quite different from his Pascoe Series. This on has a heroine you have to love if only for how feisty she is! And of course he deftly times the present with the past, making an interesting 'package' out of the whole story. I would recommend this book along with many of his other books.

THE TINY VILLAGE OF ILLTHWAITE IN CUMBRIA ENGLAND,SEEMS TO THE KIND OF PLACE WHERE NOTHING MUCH HAS HAPPENED FOR THE LAST FEW CENTURIES.BUT THE TWO YOUNG STRANGERS WHO ARRIVE THERE ON THE SAME DANK AUTUMN DAY SOON FIND OUT THAT APPEARANCES ARE DECEPTIVE.
