Although this is a board book, the 10 pages of pictures and text are closer to a second grade reading level. There is so much action of the workers in each 2 page spread. This book would work well for a child to narrate back in sentence what he/ she sees happening in each picture.
The best is the acutally "cement", a clear insert of sand, that flows down into a form on the 1/4 inch thick front cover.

This is a very cute board book that has sand in the front cover that pours out of the concrete mixer. Very cute book for the 2 - 3 year old boy set obsessed with big trucks!
