I was younger when I read this book. First book I've ever FULLY read and I got hooked. If you know a young one who can read but never finishes a book because they don't find them interesting try this one out.

In the future, in a place called Satellite City, 14-year-old Cosmo Hill enters the world, unwanted by his parents. He's sent to the Clarissa Frayne Institute for Parentally Challenged Boys. Freight class.
At Clarissa Frayne, the boys are put to work by the state, testing highly dangerous products. At the end of most days, they are covered with burns, bruises, and sores. Cosmo realizes that if he doesn't escape, he will die at this so-called orphanage.
When the moment finally comes, Cosmo seizes his chance and breaks out with the help of the Supernaturalists, a motley crew of kids who all have the same special ability as Cosmo-they can see supernatural Parasites, creatures that feed on the life force of humans. The Supernaturalists patrol the city at night, hunting the Parasites in hopes of saving what is left of humanity in Satellite City. Or so they think. The Supernaturalists soon find themselves caught in a web far more complicated than they'd imagined, when they discover a horrifying secret that will force them to question everything they believe in.
Eoin Colfer has created an eerie and captivating world replete with nonstop action, humor, and a spellbinding cast of characters.

Colfer, as always, tells a detailed, riveting story. This is NOT a book in the Artemis Fowl series, but it's still worth a read.

The Supernaturalist was a good quick action packed read. Another peice of Colfer Candy that goes down smooth with a glass of adrenylin. It appealed to the twelve year old that perpetually resides in my brain. Have fun blasting supernatural parasites.

This book was very interesting, but it had some slow parts. I enjoyed the characters and wish that Colfer would write us a sequel. I think this would also make a really cool movie.

I thought this was a very creatively engaging story, and Colfer did a great job of expressing his imagery which prompted my imagination.

Sci-fi fantasy story. I liked the easy to understand story. Good always wins and hero's are found in the strangest places. If you want a short story to just escape with, this one will do.

Hubby said it was pretty good but didn't think it was my style so I skipped it.

This is a YA book, but I enjoyed Colfer's Artemis Fowl series. 4 children in the future band together to fight invisible blue aliens which seem to suck the life out of people. In a twist of ;lot, the children try to defend the aliens in the end.

This edition has the ISBN 0439699886 listed on the title page, but it is a newer edition with a different ISBN on the back cover since it is a scholastic edition bought at the school book fair. I have never seen a book with two ISBNs before.
