Pub. 1967. Vintage Sci-fi - which means you have to adjust to its era and then you'll enjoy it very much. Good imagination, and forecasting.

This book is crazy! It is like four books all going on at the same time. I was especially impressed with the "defusing the bomb in the storage bin of an airplane in mid-flight" scene, which lasted all of about two pages before morphing into some other breathless drama. Seriously, I was amazed by this book.

The cultural references were fun also: Batman the TV show is quoted ("Pow!"), and Man from Uncle is referenced. Also some sort of scene during the Vietnam War. I can't say the book made a lick of sense, but it sure was fun.
