Our family vacation Colorado some years ago. At one stop along the way my wife picked up this book full of Colorado folklore. It is a collection of stories from Colorado's history. Some of the stories are true, most are stories that have been told and retold by generations of people. These stories could have started on a basic true event and then grew to be mostly fiction, or they may have been true. The author does not try to verify the stories, she just tells them as she heard them.

I like this book a lot. The short story format made it easy to read a little at a time. I could put it down for several weeks and pick it up and continue without having to recall where I left the story. Other than occurring in Colorado, the stories are unrelated. Interesting reading if you like Colorado.
