WONDERFUL book! Very interesting read about Dr. Grandin's life and also has a good treatment of the question "what is autism". My six-year-old daughter is autistic and this short, but wonderful biography moved me to tears by the end. I have read several of Dr. Grandin's books and find her fascinating, but somehow reading from another point of view about her life was SO incredibly encouraging and uplifting to me. It gives me so much hope and makes me thankful again that I have a daughter named Savannah and she happens to me autistic. A must-read for educators or anyone affected by autism as well as the curious third-parties who don't know anyone who is autistic. A fascinating story about an extremely influential woman who happens to be autistic.
