Alice and Leo move to a house in a gated community called The Circle near London. Leo never informed Alice that Nina, a therapist, was murdered in their house. When Alice finds out she is obsessed to figure out which of her interesting neighbors might be the murderer. They all seem to be harboring secrets.
This psychological thriller kept the pages turning to the surprise ending. B.A. Paris is a master storyteller and she made all the characters seem like suspects to me. I was hooked from the start and I am looking forward to reading more books by Paris in the future. Highly recommend! I would like to thank NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a free copy for an honest review.

How well do you know your neighbors?

The Therapist was my first B.A. Paris novel, and I enjoyed this fast-reading domestic suspense. The premise: After dating a few months, Alice and Leo move together into a home on a gated circle Leo bought before Alice saw it. Soon she discovers a shocking fact about the home that jeopardizes her relationship with Leo. Much fear and suspicion ensue.

I liked that Alice's thought process was spelled out so I could compare my theories to hers. For once, I figured out the perpetrator before the end ⦠but didn't anticipate the additional twists so I was still surprised. It was challenging to track the numerous characters - the neighbors on The Circle as well as Alice's friends. And a couple of things about the mystery didn't make sense to me.

Thank you to St. Martin's Press and Macmillan Audio for the review copies; all thoughts are my own.

I really enjoyed this! I listened to the audio book. The narration was so well done. It kept me captivated. It has some creepy moments. I didn't feel our protagonist always made good decisions and I wondered, at times if she was even mentally stable. I did like her and rooted for her though. I guessed some things but there were a few twists and surprises in the end.

I'm a big fan of B. A. Paris, having enjoyed each of her books. This one did not disappoint!

Alice and Leo finally move in together in a home that Leo bought for them. Alice tries to make friends with neighbors but they're a tight clique. She finally manages to break into their circle and thinks she has new friends. Until she finds out that the previous owner of their home was murdered in the bedroom but none of the neighbors told her. And Leo never told her about this so she's understandably upset. She tries to get info from neighbors but they're all tight lipped. This causes her to create scenarios in her head about the involvement of each of them.
A few clues are sprinkled throughout the story but I missed them. The ending was a surprise for me!

On to the next B. A. Paris book.
