Multi-author anthology. It was interesting to see what they did with the basic setup [futuristic vampires in space protecting a planet from meteor showers - condemned prisoners of the planet being saved are given to the vampires - recruiting new pilots/vampires on earth using a giant Halloween haunted house as a cover]. Williams' story is a 'second chance' romance set during one of the 'recruiting' parties on earth - read-once but enjoyable. McCall's story zeroed in on the condemned prisoners being handed over to the vamps. The plot was a bit fuzzy - not so great a read. Blazer's story was the best of the three - and pretty much totally ignores the setup. There are a couple of nods in passing to the setup but the story takes place on contemporary as the matriarch of a powerful witch family plays matchmaker.
