All the things we could learn if only we ask! A book that shows us that if we want something bad enough, we'll find a way to get it....even if it takes years. Fun read showing how an interest in stamp collection turns to obsession and finally reality. Richard Feynman, a prominent physicist, and his friend Ralph Leighton, decide they want to go to the Siberian country, Tannu-Tuva, after a debate over a stamp from the country questions if it is a real place. The book recounts their search to learn about this country and their obscure journey in an attempt to get there. I had no idea that a country called Tannu-Tuva exists and it was great fun to learn about it and such things as throat singing and to follow the two men in their journey of discovery.

A great book about a great man!

I enjoyed this book but it was a bit misleading calling it Richard Feynman's last adventure, since he died before ever going to Tuva. While it was interesting reading and I learned something, it left me feeling that the author was capitalizing a bit on his friendship with Feynman.

It's funny how infectious an adventure can be. This book is Ralph Leighton's retelling of both Richard Feynman and his quest to reach Tuva. As we all know, adventures are filled with many unexpected twists and turns. This story does include many of them. Note: Because this true story is told from the third person point of view, you do not get a true picture of what motivated Feynman. This does diminish the adventure a bit since no one but Feynmam can retell the delightful antics of the "curious character" but himself.
