WTH. While usually LOVE MJD books. When I closed the book last night,I was disappointed. It was under 300 pages and I felt like I was missing something big. Where's the rest of it? I was grateful I had recieved this from my local library.

I really enjoyed all the Betsy books, until this one. This book was boring and pointless. You are not missing a thing if you skip it.

Well, here's another MJD book that I read in just a few hours, since the font is HUGE and there's really not much there. I've enjoyed this series from the beginning, but it's getting irritating that the publisher is putting what should be a short paperback book into a hardcover - it's really just not worth it.

I've put aside my disbelief and normally enjoy that there are vampires in Minnesota. We recently learned that the werewolves live in Cape Cod. Betsy's half-sister, Laura, is the daughter of the devil. Okay, I can deal. But now a baby with superpowers? Come on, MJD can't come up with anything else?

I was glad that the story involved around taking Antonia's body back to her pack, even though I'm still really irked that she got killed off in the first place. I was annoyed that hardly any mention was given to Garrett, who killed himself when Antonia was killed, but I guess I shouldn't have expected much else.

Overall, UNDEAD AND UNWELCOME was another quick read, but it's actually pretty boring, and doesn't add a whole lot to the series. Since I borrowed it from the library this time around, though, I guess I can't complain too much.

First of all, could the print get any bigger or have any wider spacing in this book? Probably, but if I'd dwelt on that, I'd've not gotten past page two. (However, I later was glad for the for it, since I got through the book quicker.)

I was quickly irritated when I realized Davidson must have run out of ideas for writing this book, because not only was it written from Betsy's point of view, but we now have to read one from Marc's. The journal approach was lame, to say the least.

Betsy's character continues to try to act smart, but is ever the dim-witted ditz. A small example is when she tends to complain about emails from Marc in that she hates his use of acronyms, lack of punctuation and all-around poor grammar. Why are we wasting our time with this? Repeatedly? And making it part of the plot???

It seems like in the past couple of years my favorite series in the humorous chick-lit genre have gone to crap because the author's obviously running out of juice when it comes to a plot. Unfortunately, it doesn't stop them from trying to bleed their fans dry in the pocketbook. (pun intended)

After this stinker, I'll be using credits to get books by this author and saving my money for books with more depth by authors who still know how to write.

I'm in agreement with the other reviewers. I am a huge fan of the Betsey novels but this one was a disappointment. While I do read her books in one sitting, she wasted 90 pages with betsy and marc's ramblings in order to sum up what happened in the past books. Im serious 90 pages. Not only is the book 290 pages with huge font and small pages, but she had three page chapters to make it longer. I felt like I was reading a college paper that needed to make quota.
It was good to catch up with the werewolf pack, but this seemed to just be a filler book, taking forever for her to just walk from one room to the other. I mean I know that Betsy goes off on wild tangents but this one takes the cake. I always anxiously await MJD's books to release and have never cared about the price, but I'm extremely annoyed that this book runs for more than $20 and will wait for pbs or my local library to get it next time.

Not bad. This book definitely held my interest and read it in 1.5days. I like seeing the darker side of existing situations. Looking forward to the next book.

I love this series. The characters are so outlandish and the dialogue is hysterical. This book starts off immediately where book 7 ended and ties up some of the loose ends. It means that this book didn't have as much action and plot twists as some of the previous books in the series, but funny, nonetheless.

This book is half about Betsy dealing with the werewolf clan in Cape Code and half with Marc back home attempting to handle Laura who decided to go psycho in Betsy's absence and their botched attempts to communicate with each other. The book goes at break-neck speed. The characters are full of sarcasm and insults and witty observations. It was like having a drink at a bar with your best friends. I finished the book in two hours and I closed the book with a big smile on my face!

If you are familiar with the series, you can rest assured that this book has the same tone as the previous ones. If you are new to the series, you might feel a bit confused.

Paranormal romance by MJD, and Book 8 in the Queen Betsy series. Betsy, Sinclair, Jessica and BabyJon travel to Cape Cod, to return Antonia to her Pack, and explain how Antonia died. They are worried about the reception they'll receive. The Jury is out. Betsy picks up a tip or two on Leadership from a 5 year old (my favorite part). Meanwhile, back at HQ, Laura, the Anti-Christ is trying to deal with Satanists who want to worship her. Watch out! Betsy figures out that there is something special about BabyJon. Satan, in the form of Lena Olin makes an appearance. I love these books. They are fun, great escapism. My only complaint is that they are so light and fun, I finish them in less than a day, then I'm sorry its over. Can't wait for the next.
