Pleasant fantasy romance, better if you've read the first 3 in the series since it relies heavily on past relationships and knowledge of the primes and their powers. It's okay, and it's nice to be back in this relatively quiet world where armageddon is not imminent, just a lot of political intrigue. It's an uncomplicated plot where you can see every move coming long in advance. But perhaps I wasn't quite in the mood for this. I didn't find Seka's change of heart believable. I couldn't believe that it never occurred to Leah what the Prince might do after all those heavy hints. Leah's ability to ferret out information for Darien must surely be in jeopardy since it seems like everyone in the country knows what she does. And lastly, the healing ability of the torz prime...okay. If the prime can do that, why isn't he out there in the hospitals? We know there are slums, presumably that means poor, and it's barely an industrial society. How many (poor) people are dying each day of, say, infected wounds or broken spines etc while the torz prime - who can fix all that - relaxes in his estates? I hate it when my mind injects nasty reality into a pleasant fantasy, but just couldn't help it.
