Biography
Robert Vavra was born in California and lived there until he was twenty-three years old. In 1958 he went to Europe, where he has since spent most of his time. One of the world's finest photographers, he provided the photographs for James Michener's Iberia, which became a number-one New York Times best-seller. He is the author of thirty-six books. Vavra divides his time between his ranch in Sevilla, Spain, and the Kenyan Highlands.
His most recent projects include the books Michener's the Name and An Eye for Beauty, along with his stunning and highly acclaimed documentary film Such Is the Real Nature of Horses.« less
