A Very Eligible Corpse - Hannah and Kiki, Bk 1
Author: Annie Griffin
Hannah is quiet, modest, and thoroughly lady-like. Kiki is loud, tacky, and totally man-crazy. Hannah abstains from alcohol, writes poetry, and belongs to the Hill Creek Rose Club. Kiki (60) and Hannah (61) are widowed sisters who live together in Hill Creek, CA. They could not be more different. Hannah is quiet, modest and introspective while Kiki is loud, tacky and man-crazy. Hannah is the quintessential older sister always looking out for her seemingly brainless younger sister.

After a very public quarrel between Kiki and her current beau, the sisters find him dead in his rose garden. The police suspect Kiki and after a second murder, they arrest her. Hannah knows her sister is innocent and sets out to get proof that Kiki did not commit two murders.

You figure out pretty quick who the real murder is, but you can't help but laugh out loud at some of the antics of the cast of characters. I intend to read the other books in this series.

Sisters, who are ladies of a certain age, live together, love each other but also get on one anothers nerves make a gtret duo. Hannah is sensible, logical, dignified but also the one who cant leave things to the police. Not when her sister is the prime suspect. Kiki may come off as shallow and man-hungry but shes just looking for love. Shes silly and made me laugh out loud. The author created a strong sense of time and place, and the story was interesting, light and witty. A fast, fun read not to be taken too seriously.
