This is one of my favorite Clifford books! It is a counting book in which we start with 10 puppies and end up subtracting down to zero. The "puppies" are hard plastic pieces that children can feel through holes in the board book pages. The book is larger than most board books, and the pages are thick and quite durable. When I showed this book to our 2 1/2 year old, she immediately started counting the puppies, and wouldn't put the book down for some time! It is also fun for parents to read to their children. I love Clifford books anyway due to Norman Bridwell's Ten Reinforced Values on which all Clifford books are based, but this one is a real winner when it comes to beginning addition/subtraction skills! I rate it tops!
