Truly enjoyed the relationship aspect of this book. The hero showed faults that were at times exasperating but very human. Love all Brenda Novak's books to date.

Emma Wright changes her name and plans her escape from an abusive husband. Along the way she meets Preston Holman who is seeking revenge on his former neighbor, a doctor whose actions he believed led to his son's death. He reluctantly helps Emma and her son Max even though Max brings back painful memories of his son Dallas. These two are tortured and lost souls who are able to find each other. A good read- some of Novaks books are better, but I read this one in less than two days.

I liked this book OK, but it is not my favorite of Brenda Novak's. Look for more of her other books, but I am keeping the rest of mine ;-)
