The story that unfolds in this first of the series is really cool. Kids will love the details Stine plays with and get really excited about the page turning suspense. As far as thrillers for kids go, Stine is a sure thing.

In this story a family moves into a new neighborhood. When strange things start to happen, like faces appearing in windows, the family dog behaving strangely and eerie shadows shrouding everylthing, even in sunlight the kids realize that there is more to this house in this neighborhood than their parents bargained for.
