I'm reading Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill. I'm about half way through and think it's just OK. Maybe the ending will pick up a little.

I'm trying to read the Keeper by Sarah Langan. It was nominated for best new author, novel or something, I can't remember. However, I've heard such bad things about it, like it sucks..that I'm having a hard time picking it up. I haven't started it yet. I put on the table next to my reading chair.

Well, poo Tangerine, I was hoping Heart Shaped Box was going to be great. I'm like 87 on the wish list, so I had considered buying it...maybe I should wait....

Stacy, I hope you like Ghost Road Blues, I really enjoyed it. The next one is out in May, I think...Dead Man's Song. Surprisingly, I'm the only one wishing for it. *shrug*

Edited to add, I did find out about a new book and author (new to me anyway), I have this book on it's way to me now.  Should be here this week.  Maybe I'll read this one first.  Check it out:   http://www.paperbackswap.com/book/details.php?isbn=9780451220578

I am now reading: Jaws, the book is really exciting, somewhat freaky, the picture on the cover is freaky for me, otherwise gettig more into the mind of the characters is pretty cool. I am halfway through the book, 7 more chapters to go, I started yesterday LOL. I got this book from bookcrossing as part of a ring.

Next book to read: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, I got from this site.

I still have two more books to read.

I just finished the classic Rosemary's Baby. It's just one of those things you do. Marked off my "To Read" list. I think Angel by Garry Kilworth (its not really horror, but a crime thriller) or The Association by Bentley Little is next.

I love Clive Barker. I've owned the three Books of Blood maybe several times over because I keep misplacing them.

I just started Full Moon Rising by Keri Arthur. I wouldn't really classify it as horror but that's the genre listed when you bring the book up on search. My favorite horror books are Salem's Lot( I read it way back when before you even had a clue what it was about.)The Stand is also a fav. I loved Faerie Tale by Raymond Feist also. It's funny, I can read horror but I can't watch it on tv or at the movies.

I am reading a new book, called "Pig Island" by: Mo Hayder.

It is pretty good so far, about a cult of devil worshipers....

Seems eerie...can't wait to really get into it!

I'm reading The Bottoms by Joe R. Lansdale.  I don't know if it's horror or not.  It sounded good so I thought what the heck...

So far I'm really enjoying it.    I can't wait to really get into it...just been too busy lately.

I just finished Heart Shaped Box ( I had it wishlisted, but I bought it for $4 at a UBS)----and I gotta tell ya, the apple does not fall far from the tree.

It grabbed me pretty quick from the start, and once I started, I honestly could not put it down.  I picked it up a couple of weeks ago to take on my honeymoon (for the drive, of course).  I truly believe that my newly wedded husband almost divorced me due to the fact I could not get my nose out of the book until I finished.  With every chapter that I finished, I needed to know WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?!?!

The chapters were short, yet to the point.  I feel that's one way he differs from his father, who can go off on tangents and be a little long winded sometimes.

I really enjoyed the character development as well---Judas Coyne, IMHO, was a pretty good image of what an "aging rock god" would be, as well as the supporting characters (the stripper/goth girlfriends, eccentric family and long ago friends) that surrounded him.

The climax of the story was really great; parts of the ending were a little on the anti-climatic side, however.  A minor flaw with an otherwise fantastic read.

IMO, definitely well worth the credit.

Natalie
