This is one awesome read! I love tales about the pioneer migration, and many of the wonderful characters are based on real people, with John Lowry (Two Feet) actually being a member in the author's family tree. There's pioneer life, danger, love, anguish; it's all a great mix resulting in one doggone riveting story. It's a keeper for sure. 5 stars.

It's been awhile since I've read a book that made me cry. Beautifully written heartbreaking tale of a family's journey on the Oregon trail.
