The plot to this book was pretty good, but I found the heroine very weak. I can understand some of her mistakes, but she keeps making the same ones. Then she also has this trust issue where she trusts him, then she doesn't, then she does, then she doesn't over and over and over again. And I didn't really like the ending. Besides, I was left with the feeling "Yeah, so they're happy how they are, but how long is it going to last?" because she was so wavering. But it wasn't uncertain wavering. One time she'd feel strongly one way, another she'd feel different. She didn't ever feel tentative, seeing both sides. It was really irritating. I made myself finish, since there aren't very many books that I've ever started and not finished, but I'm not going to read anymore of her books.

However, like I said, the plot certainly had potential. If you are more interested in the plot than the actual story, this is good. I would have given it a higher rating if there'd been more comedy, too. I would have given her character some more slack if the book had been funny.

"Still, her wounded heart is hesitant. Is she more afraid to love - or to be loved?"

This book also like book 1 in the series is an amazing book. There are times when book 2 in a series leaves you just a bit disappointed or may be a slower read than the first book, but not this one. Grab a drink and prepare to read this one straight through.

If you enjoy Tracie Peterson and Lynn Austin, you will truly enjoy Lori's book which I purchased new. It is a wonderful historical, christian fiction book.

This is an older series but very enjoyable reading. Faith, Family, Trials and encouragement. Lori Wick as a faith based writer is very good, I have read all of her books and this is a good series.

I love this book. Lori Wick is a very good author, but like someone else commented, Rebecca just has this issue of always going one way and then abruptly turning the other way. Very odd. But like I said, I liked the book. I would recommend this book.
