This book is a tour de force told from a 3rd person perspective of a wild puma and it's struggle against human predators. There are some moments that match up a bit too easily for my taste but RD Lawrence's naturalist eye for geographical detail and his deep empathy for mountain lions is profoundly moving. Can't recommend this book enough for animal lovers.
