A very good historical account of what happens when electing a new pope. This is a fictional account but certainly based on church history. It is an interesting book and certainly worth reading, even though it may be very much outside of your regular genre, which it was for me.

As the College of Cardinals meets to choose a new Pope, there is serious dissension in the ranks about whom it should be. Power struggles, politics, and crime all come together in this educational novel. I learned alot about the process in a enjoyable way. Provokes tears, laughter, anger, excitement, and a framework for understanding the modern challenges of the papacy.
