One of the strangest stories I've ever read, but filled with wisdom. Also filled to over-flowing with breath-taking descriptions of Alaska. I liked it, I think.
It's the story of Sam Altman, a Berkley student in the 1960s. He's usually high on some kind of drug. That doesn't keep him from getting an invite to attend a prestigious Eastern college. Instead, Sam falls in love with Lindy and the idea of becoming a ram. Said it was strange.

This is a very unusual story of a young man seeking something beyond the ordinary to believe in, and of all the people who try to help him, and the friends he discards in his descent into madness. The audio CDs are excellent for long commutes.

This is a bizarre book. It's so unusual that it's hard to follow and you can't relate in any way to it. It has a lot to do with drug use also.
