If you don't know anything about wine but want to start studying it, this is a good introduction. It won't make you a connoisseur but will help you be a little less clueless if you visit a vineyard or start going to wine tastings.

Like all the Dummies books this is a great reference. I used this book when I was bartending and it was a great help.

Good basic information on Wine, and some pretty specific discussion of techniques. Will make you comfortable around people talking about wine. Also has an extensive discussion of differnet regions and what wines come from them. Very accessible.

This was a big help in getting to know wine. I was a novice and this book brought me up to speed quickly. I now have a nice collection of wines to serve my guests.
