"At forty-two, Abigail MacLeod is about to realize a lifelong dream - participation in an archaeological dig in Israel. Crushed by her husband's decision to end their marriage, Abby clings to the hope that somehow this trip will help to bring an element of peace into her chaotic life. But when tragedy taints the summer's promise, Abby questions the wisdom of staying on..." Another excellent read by Lynn Austin!

Another fantastic book by Lynn Austin! A great Christian read dealing with the conflicts of the middle East dating all the way back to Bible times. Austin does a fantastic job of describing the need for baptism as a way to salvation! Highly recommended for anyone!

Great book! Of course, Lynn Austin is a wonderful author. I loved the way it involved three different story plots - present-day characters, the life of one woman in the '60's, and then the life of a woman about A.D. 60's - all of it taking place in Israel. The story was based on a lot of facts - made the history of Israel come alive for me, and got me interested in the history of Israel. Loved it!

I like Lynn Austin. This isn't her best work but it was very good. Worth the read. Plot has a few twists and turns that you don't see coming and that is always entertaining.

For the most part, this was a very good book although it was a bit anti-clamatic. The ending was a bit disappointing, but it didn't fully take away any meaning or beauty from the rest of the book.
The modern story also helped shed light on the different POV for the current crisis in the Middle East.
In my opinion this is my top reason for recommending this book, along with the strong message that our life is a design, not random.
Overall, a good read.
