I posted a book last week that had 19 people wishing for it.  I have now gone through 4 different people who do not want the book.  I checked and three of them haven't wished for a book since 2014 and do not have even a limited membership so I presume these are people who dropped out.  Let's hope the 5rh one is the charm.

Jean - I've found that a lot. When I post a WL book, I sort of check to see what their status is and when they last posted a book to their shelf or WL, and if they haven't done so recently (2019 or late 2018), I figure that the book is going to sit for 2 days and then go on to another person. It is frustrating. Pat

Cold comfort, but I've had WL books go through 7 wishers before someone actually wants it.

I'm dealing with the same thing now. I thought I might bypass the problem by offering the book to a friend, but she must have declined it because it is now on the 4th person. I'm really hoping the request comes through today so I can mail it out tomorrow when I am already planning to go to the post office.

Guess 5th time is actually the charm!!!  Someone actually wants it!!!

Reverse issue. I have gone through 5 wish list granted but timed out. Why bother listing a book and never sending. A mystery? 

I just listed a book that had 13 people wishing for it......we'll see how long it takes.........

WOW! First person in line has already responded and taken the book......wow!!

I posted a few WL books so I can  get a few more credits. Two of them are on their third wisher with only one wisher declining the offer.......think more and more people are neglecting their memberships here.  

PBS could fix the issue easily. Place accounts that fail to reply after x times on hold and/or accounts with no activity for over a year. They clearly do not want to reduce their numbers by inactive accounts. The downside is more members becoming frustrated and not bothering to renew.

Accounts are placed on hold after not responding to a certain amount of requests. 

Plus, I'm sure there are lots of members along the East Coast corridor who aren't bothering with PBS right now - high winds and flooding would tend to take your mind off fun stuff and that's IF you even have power....

Both books are now on their 5th wisher!

And now timestamps are off again.......I have a WL book I posted today that says it was offered on 9/9/19 at 12:00am.

I find watching a WL book go through multiple wishers is easier if I tell myself I'm helping weed out idle accounts and thus make things faster in the future.
