The first in the stories of the swords of power that take place after the great battle that set Mark, the son of the swordmaker, on his place as the Prince Consort of his land. An old enemy is trying to regather the Swords of Power, and Mark's children will end up caught up in the mess. This is a good fantasy novel and has some ingenius uses of these powerful weapons.
