When this story begins, the heroine Syvia is very young, and does not understand why her world is suddenly turned upside down. Hence the reason this book begins very simply, through the eyes of young bewildered Syvia.
However, as she grows older and comes to understand her family's lot, her writing becomes more intense.

The author of Yellow Star, Jennifer Roy, is the neice of this story's amazing herione. Through Syvia's retelling, and Ms. Roy's wonderful writing, Yellow Star comes alive for readers young and old.

I read this book, loved it. Gave it to my mom, she loved it too!

Just last year I gave it to my sister and she loved it as well!

If this trend continues, I'm sure anyone who reads Yellow Star will not finish this book with dry eyes. A beautifully told true story. A must read!!
