This is an old-fashioned British cozy. The protags are a wealthy young man who's hobby is detection and his buddy, who is a Scotland Yard inspector. A fun read.

an english manor house,a sweet young wife, married 3 times to wealthy older men. the first two times it was an accident or maybe not. but the third time it's murder. his family and friends do not like his new wife. did she or didn't she.
this is the first book by this author,but you would not know it. she writes like a pro.
this may be the beginning of a series of books with the same scotland yard detectives, and the det sgt bast frind a wealthy man that looks at detecting as a hobby.
I enjpyed it.

The British village mystery lives! Delightful characters and atmosphere. Did the "young widow" actually do away with her (third) older husband???
