I am a huge fan of Gregory as a historical fiction writer so I was excited to try reading something she wrote in a different genre. Unfortunately, this book was hugely disappointing for me. I kept reading hoping it would get better but it only got stranger and more confusing. I don't know a great deal about alternative lifestyles but I don't feel like anyone living one would find the descriptions in this book at all flattering. Not to mention how the middle aged woman who is the main character of this book is portrayed throughout the story as a needy, clingy, dowdy woman. The ending was not shocking and not at all satisfying. I do not recommend :(

Gregory steps outside her historic novels and gives up the life of an author who changes up part of her life to make it big as a novelist and enough money for a pool. Her alter ego is far different than her everyday life and far more exciting, it goes beyond what she had expected. Very fun read
