I really enjoyed In the Zone. I was pleased because this book showed stronger elements of BDSM, especially the SM aspects than many other "BDSM" books aspire. Even the tools are fairly well explained. The heroine, Alani, is a professional submissive for the Zone Club. While in a scene with a dom, she acts bored and she is found out by one of the club's owners, Master Nathaniel. Nathaniel, a Dom with a strong need to show Alani how to be submissive, decides to retrain Alani. She says she only wants pain and doesn't want to be anyone's submissive. However, Master Nathaniel learns what kind of pain Alani really needs, and takes her to the edge again and again.
