For anyone interested in life in Britain during WWII, this is a fabulous book -- the diary of a woman living in a rural part of East Anglia during the war -- so it is quite a different perspective on the British Home Front from most diaries that I have read written by urban dwellers. Next to "Mrs. Milburn's Diaries" this is my favourite wartime diary to date. Highly recommended to anyone interested in this time and place.
