Excellant story - tissues are a must while reading. Very emotional subject about the loss of a child and coping as best as you can. The book grabs you right at the beginning and keeps you reading till you finish. Looking forward to reading other books by this author

Not sure about this book. It received so much hype that I feel a little disappointed. The beginning part of the book rambles on about the youngest of the girl's and sets the stage for her accusation. Although this set the stage for her over-active imagination, I felt that this was much too long and I lost interest numerous times. The book did hold interest at certain points but would then turn around to the drawn out portions. It seemed very detail oriented about things that were not major events in the story. Glad I finished it and was kinda OK but took a while to get through.

Really really enjoyed this book. Nice story about young boy growing up and facing issues that arise throughout the story. Had small town murder mystery beneath it but also spoke about other hardships and enjoyments which can happen in a young boys life. It is written and told through the eyes of the young boy and captures his feelings about his parents, neighbors, friends, schoolmates, bullies and others that interact in his life. This was a nice sometimes well written book and I would definately recommend it.

Sad but interesting soriy about how the main character tried to get his dog to converse and tell him about how and why his wife died. The main character is so comsumed with "why" that he will try any means to find out. Since the dog was the only witness that day, he tries through various methods to teach the dog to converse in an understandable language. Although his friends feel this is far fetched, there are several successfull studies that the character uses to show that if can be done. But it also shows a different side of human nature and animal cruelty that I found offensive.

Awesome Awesome book - Dean Koontz does not fail to deliver engrossing tale of scientific experimentation. Keep me reading into the wee hours. Although book spans only 2 days in the life of a young man with the XP generic disorder, the writing keeps you reading to find out the outcome. Also make you think about where science is heading and possible outcomes from trying too hard. High recommend this novel - will keep you reading

Mixed feeling about book. Some parts were really interesting but other parts just seemed to go off on other thoughts and other people. Also didn't like how book began giving away ending. It was interesting when they spoke about main character and his life but may times discussed other characters who were boring and uninteresting.

Pretty good story about problem with adopted son and how this family deals with problems - also many sub stories regarding different relatives, friends, and neighbors of the main characters. Throughout entire story, there is also hint of mystery that happened 20 odd years ago and this is not revealed until end of book. Book tended to be a bit wordy at times but overall good story
