This is a very good book with a moral to the story that is not very common in children's books (trade the devil you know for the devil you don't and you might get burned). Some of the illustrations in this book are outstanding especially the scene where new devils have transformed the people's living room. Kids love looking at all the absurd details in this picture.

Field of Hope: An Inspiring Autobiography of a Lifetime of Overcoming Odds

Very inspiring story about the power of perseverance, trusting in God, and believing in yourself even in the face of doubt or outright detractors. Interestingly, Brett Butler was one of my favorite players when I was growing up as a Cleveland Indians fan in the 1980s. I'm glad he wrote this book, because now beyond just being a good player, his story is inspiring to me.

The way I discovered this book is worth telling as well. I was in Dollar Tree with my son who was buying World Cup Soccer Player trading cards. On the shelf near them were very old Fleer baseball card packets that you can see what cards are inside and I was looking through them. Right on top of the pile was a pack that had several Cleveland Indians players from the 1980s that I remembered including Brett Butler. The memories flooded back, I bought the cards, went home and looked him up on google and found that he wrote this book. I'm glad that God lead me to this story!

I can't even count how many times I read this book to my kids. They really seem to like it, and parts of it even can make an adult chuckle. I think it also eased their minds about going to the dentist. It is appropriate for ages 2-4 I would say.

This is a nice version of Noah's ark bible story. The devil is inserted into the story in the form of some different animals. It is a little abstract for children to truly understand. My son despite being a big fan of the Noah's Ark story, never asks to have this book read, so I don't think he was very struck by it yet (age 4). I like the story though, and the illustrations are very nice.
