This book starts out way into the future with a space battle and does a time travel back to our current time. It took me some pages to figure out what was happening but when I did I thoroughly enjoyed the story. I have read a few other books and coauthored books by Weber and can add this to the titles I enjoyed.

A Mark Shigata Mystery. This is an older book with a tight story that touches on how the Japanese were treated in the U.S. after the Pearl Harbor bombing but not a lot of historical detail, just mentions and repercussions.

Normally I do not read zombie books but I liked the cover blurb on this one so thought I'd give it a try. I surprised myself and actually enjoyed it a lot. I liked the characters, the humor, and the action. The story moved right along without excessively gory details which I appreciated; my imagination works just fine. I found this story to be a good solid few hours of entertainment and I'll check out the next book too.

I enjoy this series. They are a relaxing read with interesting characters who each have their own set of problems but who have made themselves into a support group for each other. Throw in some mystery and a little romance then you have a perfect mix.
