This book was purchased for me by a loving friend when I struggling through a difficult time. Iyanla Vanzant is inspirational and it provided me with a nuts and bolts things to do while I "recovered".

I originally started to read this book thinking it was the book everyone was raving about (The Secret Life of Bees). I have since read both and like this one MUCH better.

I loved Atonement and couldn't wait to read this book which has great reviews from other sources (LA Times Book review, The Nation, etc.) But, I had to force myself to read most of it. It felt more like readinga writing exercise.........

I didn't like it as much as the rest of the world seems to, but don't regret reading it.

Helped me to understand the inner life of someone struggling with anorexia and bulimia. Author is incredibly articulate, intelligent and great writer... and still struggling with the disease.

Third in the series. Don't start here, go back to Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead. GREAT sci-fi.
