The first book I have read in the Jack Reacher series. It is a page turner! It has characters from Jack's Army past. I recommend it highly!

They broke out of jail and dared the law to catch them. He walked out of jail--and swore he would. When three desperados escaped from the new jail in Rio Arriba they grabbed Emma Steinmetz, a fine horse--and lots of guns. Jim Douglas had been doing time too--framed for debt by Emma's greedy father. Now he's leading the high country hunt of the convicts. But a strong-willed woman has joined the posse, with her own ideas about right and wrong. And Douglas has something left to learn.
In this powerful, gripping novel, Frank O'Rourke captures the raw conflicts and hard realism of the American West. A master storyteller, he makes the lawless, brutal frontier come dramatically alive.

Bill Womack, hired gun, was being paid to save a man, not kill him. And the Hovey twins were willing to pay the kind of money that would set him free of his sidearms at last.
A nice book with some interesting characters. You are swept along wanting to know how Bill Womack handles this dangerous dilemma.

This book features Wyatt Earp as a main character. Garfield writes a good western! Should be read if only to find how Sliphammer gets his nickname.
