It's been awhile since I read this book, but I remember it was so good I couldn't put it down. I even gave it to my friend's dad to read, & he loved it too. One of the best books I've ever read!

This is my 1st time reading anything by this author, & i really liked it! There were quite a few 'laugh out loud' moments, and it was pretty steamy, too!

After only the 1st chapter I seriously wanted to stop reading this book. I forced myself to finish it, and the only thing that kept me going was the fact that it was by Christina Dodd. I kept hoping it would get better, but it never really did. The end was very strange, as some of the other reviewers said, but i guess the author needed to introduce the other characters (somehow or other!)in order to write their future stories. All in all, the book was "ok"; i gave it 2 stars, but none of it really seemed believable.

This book is hilarious! It made me laugh out loud (at work) so many times...I can't believe that stuff really happened to her. But even if it didn't, she tells a great story!

I really like Carolyn Jewel's books, however I kept hoping this story was going to get better and it just never did. It started out good, but the guy is such an arrogant ass, and the heroine is SO wishy-washy about everything, and he bulldozes right over her. She has absolutely no backbone-it was painful to read. I kept wanting to shake her! I love him, I don't love him, I might love him, I hate him, blah blah blah. It became really annoying after a while, and never did got resolved until the very last page. Maybe it's because this was one of her earlier books and her writing style has since changed? I don't know. I liked it, but I didn't love it.

This book was a real struggle to finish! In the first place, the story line jumps back and forth from 1814 to 1837 every couple of pages. And the characters are in their 40's now! (although they still look like they're in their 20's on the inside cover art). I just don't like a book where SO MUCH time has passed since the beginning of the realtionship...too much water under the bridge. And Pippin is now described as "matronly" and Dash as a "drunkard". How romantic (not!)

I didn't like this book at all! It reminded me of the books she wrote early in her career that the publisher has started releasing now. It was too "vanilla" for me, very bland (not sure how else to say it!). Normally I'm a fan of Mary Balogh's; loved her "Simply" series.

I couldn't seem to get into this book, and stopped halfway through. Because I've heard so many good reviews about Eloisa James books, I forced myself to go back & finish it. Would you believe it actually got better and I ended up really liking it?! So it went from a '2' to a '4' because the 2nd half redeemed it. It seemed like the characters had NO chemistry until then, and when that happened the story finally started coming together.
