DMT: The Spirit Molecule: A Doctor's Revolutionary Research into the Biology of Near-Death and Mystical Experiences
Review Date: 7/16/2018

Even though the book was written by an MD doing clinical research, it is easily understood by the layman and has plenty of anecdotal stories to keep it interesting. Especially intriguing for those that may have experienced phsychedelic drugs, had a deep religious experience or both.

Fields of Greens : New Vegetarian Recipes From The Celebrated Greens Restaurant
Review Date: 6/26/2011

This has some really good and easy recipes. Even though my ISBN number matches, mine is a soft cover, but full sized book. The website lists it as hard cover.

One of the best uplifting books i have ever read. How Jenny can take such mundane and every day situations (some she makes extraordinary by her own hand) and make it so humorous is outstanding. It made me order 2 more of her books.

Great background of what America thinks about the Angels in their initial years. Makes one wonder if a group of people can actually be so animalistic.

Not only does this book have a large selection of herbs that can be grown in most gardens, it also has many websites at the end of the book to look up related garden sites. It also has many resources on where to order seeds/plants from reputable dealers.

The Jefferson Bible: The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth
Review Date: 4/1/2020

I find it interesting that one of the founding fathers of our nation found it imperative that all people be treated as equals. He was also supposed to be "enlightened". At one time he owned up to 600 slaves. Even at the time of his death, he owned 200,but still did not proclaim them free at his death like so many of his colleagues had. This man then had the arrogance to rewrite a part of the Bible as it suited his needs. As a common sense thinker, I am grateful that I did not live in this era.

Farce on the Left Behind religious series. May be of interest as light reading to Atheists and Agnostic men. Contains soft porn literature.

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children, Bk 1)
Review Date: 12/21/2014

The main character of the story is a teenage boy, that adores his grandfather but has doubts of the validity of his peculiar stories. After the grandfather's death the boys father takes him to the moors of the UK,where his grandfather grew up. Not only does he discover that his grandfather's outlandish stories were true, but that Jacob has to carry on in grandfather's steps to save the "peculiar" world in which he and others live.
This book may appeal to preteen through adult readers.

Through Dakota Eyes: Narrative Accounts of the Minnesota Indian War of 1862
Review Date: 10/8/2020

It was enlightening to get the views of the first nations people on certain instances during the conflict. I was amazed that back in 1862, how rapidly the native tribes were able to communicate and come together. I felt it was horrible in how they were made to conform to the white man's ways but were continually cheated out of what was rightfully theirs.
The stories were a little disjointed with hopping back and forth between characters. Would have been a bit more enjoyable read if the time line flowed a bit more evenly.

I liked the parts that Darwin wrote about the native people's in his journeys, but as I am not a geologist and don't have much passion for it; his writings on rock formations and such was a little bit of a dry read for me.
