This is a True Crime about 2 girls that were killed on Halloween Night. They were both very likable people and most of the book is focused on telling us this. The story was featured on the TV show 48 hours and the book is based on interviews of the victims family and friends. If you like your True Crime light on the investigation and trial and heavy on the background of the victims you might like this book. I liked it a lot until about half way through and then I got tired of hearing from everyone they had ever met how wonderful they were. There was very little information on the third girl in the apartment that survived. Just an ok book.

If you love country music and The Grand Ol' Opry you are going to love this book by the daughter of the official photographer for the Opry. The author takes us behind the stage and the singers lives through the eyes of a child. There's no gossip here, as the author greatly admires everyone she meets. There are tons of pictures here, most taken by her father. I was a little sad to read about so many great people who are no longer with us.

Kathryn Casey draws upon her experience as a True Crime writer to write this realistic fictional crime story. The plot is believable and the characters likable. Looking forward to the next book in the series.

An amazing story of nurses that were POW's during WWII. I was so amazed at what these women went through. I couldnt put this book down. I felt that I got to know these women and at the end of the book I was sad to find out so few of them are left. The book is 10 years old so probably none of them are left anymore. The author has done impeccable research and told the story in an interesting manner.

I tend to agree with Kate. After reading several books where wives are terribly abused, I dont feel much sympathy for a woman whining about how her marriage has become boring. Not a lot happens in this book except for the author debating on her not very exciting life. I'm glad not everyone takes a year off from their life 'just to think'.
