I reseve 5 stars for my top 5 books, but this one was well written from a new perspective. There are some key things that "date" the book, but it also lends an authenticity to that time period. Its about a life and culture most of us don't know about personally, but if you throw out judgement you can get really caught up in the character.

The book is very slow, but the story is touching. I enjoyed the book very much.

I love Michael Palmer's mysteries. He takes medical drama to a new level. Forget Gray's Anatomy, turn off the TV and cuddle up with Miracle Cure instead.
