Refreshing perspective in this day and age. Most of us eat meat of some kind, but we shy away from thinking about the death of the animal that provided it. Hunting is more humane than many of our modern animal care practices. Through meeting and interacting with hunters, many of whom are not only conservationists but who know--and care--a whole lot more about animals than the anti-hunting lobby, this author went from being totally opposed to guns and hunting to becoming a hunter herself.

I rated this a 5 in spite of the (at times) sexual content (not being a voyeur)that I skipped over. I love the skillful characterization, especially main character.

Although presented as fiction, the warning in this book is very real (and footnoted and well documented) and should be read--and taken to heart--by everyone in the U.S.A.

Peacemaking is the subject of this book. It is is set up as a study, with thoughtful questions at the end of each chapter. The author gives examples from his life-- and how working to restore peace in relationships has impacted him as well.

Loved this book. I have been collecting everything I can find by and about C.S. Lewis for years, and I found some new stuff in this old book. I read it cover to cover.

A good yarn. I especially enjoyed the 18th-century British setting (London), and the language also gives a flavor of the time without being difficult to read. Good characterization, and the story line has enough twists and turns to keep me reading.

A must-read for any person with children considering divorce, any divorced person with a child or children, and any child of divorced parents. This book explains so much. And it's easy to read.

I read this book as a lead-in to an old favorite, Barchester Towers. To me, it lacks the depth and humor of Barchester Towers. In short, I enjoyed it, but I won't read it again -- as I will its sequel.
